Thanks to the A8, Audi has managed to turn things around in the upper class car segment and was able to ensure a safe spot in this class as well. Those who already wanted a little extra in exclusivity and performance already had a chance to get some support at ABT Sportsline back then. And things will be kept alike! The latest A8 version also wants to set standards in the upper-class. Easy for a serial model that already comes up with more than 286 HP (210kW) and 600 Nm for the 3.0 TDI. Thanks to the power unit ABT Engine Control (AEC) the performance increases onto 330 HP (243 kW) and 650 Nm, whereby here, as with all ABT performance enhancements, the protection of the engine is the top priority.
But the optics are not neglected either: Consisting of a striking front spoiler, a discreet rear apron in diffuser optics and a restrained rear spoiler, the luxury-class sedan also elegantly shows what it's made of on the outside. Details such as the ABT shift knob cover, the start-stop-switch cap and the ABT door entry lighting further enhance the interior as well.
The icing on the cake for the Audi A8 is the the ABT SPORT GR 22-inch alloy wheel. With a matt black paint and diamond-machined surface it offers a lot of visual depth. Geometric features are the ten forked spokes, the recessed hub area and the concave rim base. In addition, the ABT SPORT GR scores with its outstanding concentricity properties. The light alloy wheels ABT SPORT DR, FR and ER-C are also available in various versions, both as a rim set and as a complete wheel set for the A8.
ABT Power, the premium uprating with a separately developed control unit, ups this car’s performance from 520 hp/382 kW to 640 hp/471 kW, with the 4.0 TFSI’s torque increased from 650 to 780 Nm. With so many “horses”, Ludwig II would have been in Herrenchiemsee or any other of his castles in a jiffy, especially if you consider the new top speed of 280 km/h.
